I thought I would add, we do not pay for regular household chores. Our daughters are exptected to keep their own room and bathroom picked up and care for their pets. They are required to help with laundry, dishes, vacuuming, and scouring about three times a week. For this, they get to do competition cheerleading, girl scouts (*wink*), horse back riding, clothes shopping and activities with their friends pretty much with no hesitation from us.

That is what works for us. :) It eliminates keeping track of anything, which I would not be able to do with everything else

Jean...this is all great! If its alright with you, I'd like to keep a copy of this in my documents list so I can refer back to it...I have to see things on paper and keep it handy to look back on because I have the memory of a a gnat, if they have one at all! Anyway, I was able to get Nicholas to make his bed over the summer, and while he can do a few things, he is very hit and miss. Kailey is in her terrible twos, and I do mean terrible...she used to do things for me all the time, and like you and everyone else, money is tight! Thanks again, dear!

Hey, I really enjoy your blog. I have a blog too in a totally unrelated field <a HREF="http://www.fiu.edu/~its/wwwboard/messages/1309.htm" rel="nofollow">(Online Stock Trading)</A> but I like to check in here on a regular basis, just to see what's going on and it's always interesting to say the least. It's always entertaining what people have to say.

I<a HREF="http://fedora-commons.org/confluence/display/~billtinsley1971" rel="nofollow">'</A>m sure many of you are like me and one of the first things you do in the morning is head here and check out the new post. Along with seeing the new posts, I'm also always checking out the blog roll rss feed and watching them grow, or shrink sometimes. In one of my past ...but all in all excellent site. Keep it up!

When my husband puts the film on the window, he always cleans the window very well. Then the water he sprays on has a tiny amount of baby shampoo. Maybe that's the secret ingredient. Maybe you were not generous enough with the water too?

Thanks for the tips!

We got that film to go on our windows, the kind that you spray water on first then lay the film on it. I found that the heat dried up the water and the film kept falling off so I ended up taping it up to the window. Not very attractive but it DOES work with helping keep the heat out. If you know a better way to keep it up without using tape please let me know.
